GameStop is really, really, awesome to their customers.

I can’t speak to how they treat their employees, but GameStop (at least my two neighborhood stores) always treat their customers right.

Case in point: yesterday, I’m in one of our stores here in town (not even my usual one, at that) and they have a pomotional stand-up for Wrath of the Lich King.  It’s so awesome, they could have just popped up a black piece of posterboard with the word “awesome” scrawled across and the effect would have been the same.

I know that it’s a hopeless endeavor, but I decide to ask the young lady behind the counter anyway: is that stand-up spoken for?  I offer to buy it, I’m told they can’t sell it and she’s unsure what they will be doing with it.  No worries; I just tell her that I’ll check back later.

She disappears to their stock room (or whatever the official name is for “the back”) and moments later comes up to me as I’m browsing.  She’s got one of those banners they hang from the ceiling, telling what’s where; this one once kindly guided gamers to the PC games collection, and decorated with Wrath of the Lich King graphics.

Now, this may not be up there with a Mega Man 9 press kit as far as swag goes, but it’s still pretty cool.  So I stand by my statement in the title.
